Protex Central’s inception began in 1966 performing fire alarm inspections, and while we still perform them, our services have expanded to provide quality solutions for integrated systems. Protex Central offers a unique alternative to traditional contracting relationships because we truly provide single source "turn-key" services. While our products and services have changed, our values have not; bound by ethics, committed to professionalism and driven towards excellence. These were our values in 1966 and they remain our core values today. Since the inception of ISO certification by manufacturers, most equipment on the market today is very good. Our experience tells us the equipment is only as good as the installation, thus we have incorporated the following measures to assure ourselves and our customers that they receive the highest level of quality in their installations:

• UL Listed Fire Alarm Installation Contractor
  Protex Central’s headquarters are based in Hastings, Nebraska with branch offices in Omaha, Nebraska, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Des Moines, Iowa. Protex Central is one of a handful of solution providers that voluntarily participates in Underwriter’s Laboratories independent third-party verification services as a fire alarm installation contractor. UL listing of an installation is an owner's assurance that the listed contractor has demonstrated and maintains a performance capability to design, install and maintain fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• NICET Certified Fire Protection Technology Technicians
  In addition to maintaining required local alarm licenses, many of Protex Central's system designers and technicians voluntarily submit to certification testing administered by the National Institute for Certified Engineering Technicians in the field of fire protection technology. NICET certification is an owner's assurance that the individuals designing, installing and programming the fire alarm system have met a written test and field experience standard along with meeting continuing education requirements.
